Historias de Santiago
Social series · 9:16 · 2026
Historias de Santiago is a series for Instagram and TikTok about the side of the city you don’t see: where its names come from, what was there before and what remains. Each episode runs about a minute and is told over animated maps and models, with voice, music and subtitles.
In “La Alameda era un río” (The Alameda Was a River), the avenue turns back into the branch of the Mapocho it once was, through the poplar promenade of 1818 to Metro Line 1, which now runs where the water did. In “La Moneda era una fábrica de monedas” (La Moneda Was a Mint), the model of the palace opens up to show that for more than 70 years the President lived in the same building where Chile’s money was minted.
